Actually, I have been for several years if the endless hours spent playing on my Mac counts.
Only problem is I dont think the placement of new balls is entirely random. Someone else brought this up in a previous review and the author emphatically denied that this was the case.
Here is my argument. As i mentioned before,I play the same game all the time on my Mac - in fact, I have set the preferences on the computer version to match those on my iPhone. Same number of rows an columns and the same number of colors. On my computer I routinely achieve a score in the mid thousands. In fact, sometomes when I get bored I gave to deliberately lose in order to exit the game. On the iPhone, however, I gave yet to break 1000..
So, I have to believe there is some bias in the placement of new balls whether intentional or not.
But, as I states earlier, I am hooked!
I first encountered Lines when a Russian immigrant friend brought it from Moscow over 12 years ago. This is an excellent implementation of the game; I have played it in 3 different Palm versions and 2 desktop (one PC, one Mac). This is as good or better than any I have played. All of the versions I have ever had were free, so it was a wrench to have to pay for it. But $1 is essemtially not paying for it anyway. Excellent animation, good choices of playing pieces, a good and entertaining high score display, a nice feature that shows the point value of each take-off move as it happens (helps a lot to boost your score if you know the rules), preferences panel that allows you to set all of the meaningful options.
Later versions let you track your score against all players worldwide. While I suspect some of them are rigged, its still a blast.
Love it. Addictive on iMac & even better in the iPad, particularly after I figured out full screen!
